Papers like the New York Times aren't interested in hearing every side of a debate.

They're interested in hearing every side of the debate among the wealthy and powerful, and the wealthy and the powerful are currently considering full-blown, masks-off fascism.

The more I read the defenses of Cotton's call to slaughter Americans in the street so they won't scare the wealthy in the suburbs, the more I remember these people really relish their positions as gatekeepers.

They really did think fascism was a defensible position.

The NYT/Cotton debacle reveals something really and truly disturbing but nonetheless true.

The wealthy and powerful in this country are having a moment where they are debating among themselves whether fascism in the name of maintaining their wealth and power is needed.

Here's the thing. I want everyone to hear this. So spread it if you can.

Here's your hope: when the wealthy and powerful are actually threatened, they lash out, they fight to restore their brand of law and order. The worse they get the more they're scared.

They're very scared.

These protests and this movement has the President of the United States, a straight, undeniable fascist, cowering in his basement and constructing more and more fences every day.

They have a senator publishing a call to massacre Americans in cold blood in the streets.

The more people like Trump and Cotton and these other hidden fascists fear actual change and revolution the more they're going to let their fascism fly.

Because they're petrified and fascism is the last resort of the wealthy and the powerful when they know they're losing.
