Want to #volunteer with us? Unfortunately #COVIDー19 has put a stop to recruitment for the foreseeable future. We are still taking info and putting prospective Responsers on a list to be started when the world gets back to some version of normalcy ImageImage
New recruits interested in join us will be expected to join us for a few monthly social evenings & at least 1 training day as minimum.
Most of our #volunteers work full time, on call or do shift work. We don’t expect people to be available to us 24/7.Any spare time is appreciated
Throughout the year, we attend several country fairs, 999 days and public events to fundraise and raise awareness of @4x4response UK as a whole and what we do to assist North West charities and Emergency Services Image
Some events we attend for fundraising, we end up working at.The most common “job” at an event is providing jump starts to Police who have had their lights&sirens on all day, followed by “traction assistance” towing/use of waffle boards and backing up on site First Aid companies 🚨
Occasionally we have fully “working” events where we are mostly there as car park/traffic marshalling along side Traffic Management companies, and planned/expected call outs such as @Carfestevent where we have stood by to be called out weather dependent. Busy and muddy weekends ImageImage
Over the last few years we have worked closely with @StCatherinesPre to help with Traffic Management during their open days and Christmas fair.
@CRUKEventsNW providing on site logistics for the @CR_UK Pretty Muddy and Race For Life events. Image
Doing such fundraising and working these “commercial” events allows the charity to pay the bills, provide essential safety equipment, training from both internal and external providers and vital PPE and comms equipment. No #4x4Response #volunteers should have to be out of pocket
Those bills include the fuel that #4x4Response #volunteers use whilst on official call outs, PPE, Public Liability Insurance, UHF radio and Digital communications licences, web hosting and a multitude of other behind the scenes costs
When funds and time allows, or if we get discounts offered we can have external training provided. A few years ago we were able to be trained by @Rescue3europe to level 2 in so we can assist Fire, @NWAmb_HART , Mountain Rescue and @RNLI during flooding ImageImageImage
#4x4Response was started by a group of like #volunteer minded #LandRover owners who banded together during a snow storm and offered to get nurses into hospitals. This is still one of the core activities of @4x4response UK and all associated groups ImageImage
4x4 Response UK has expanded over the years and now covers most of the UK. The core principals have expanded too... Any incident where specialised vehicles are required, we will be available to help #NotJustSnow
Recently in North West alone, our #volunteers have been tasked incidents relating to floods, fire, sand and mud. We have manned road closures, assisted at RTCs, delivered food, water and equipment to those in need. This month Covid test kits, scrubs and essential materials ImageImage
We couldn’t do any of the things we do without the tireless efforts of our 4x4 Responders, Controlers, Fundraisers, Charity Trustees and Team Management... all of whom are #volunteers. Thank you 🙏 #VolunteersWeek2020 #4x4Response #NotJustSnow #ThankYou ImageImage
