2/8 Originally, the offence ZACC arrested him for was for over 100 cars & this is where it gets interesting. He claimed that the cars were being donated to President Mnangagwa by businessmen who included Tagwirei. They were to be used in for the 2018 campaign, was his defence.
3/8 Tapfuma used piggybacked on these cars and imported his own personal cars as well, claimed they were for the President's office & avoided paying duty & taxes. But the cars being imported for the campaign were for ZANU PF, not President's Office, and ZANU PF is not..
4/8 ..exempt from paying duty/tax. The Standard reported in Aug last year Chinamasa got busy & paid the duty/taxes for the cars imported for ZANU PF. Tapfuma's personal cars which had piggybacked on these imported ZANU PF cars were now left exposed.@matigary

6/8 Tapfuma will now be sentenced. His crimes carry a maximum potential sentence of 15 years in jail. This is where the actual fight against impunity will now be confirmed. If the fight is real, his sentence will be stiff.
7/8 In addition, although @Jamwanda2 never responds to tweets about corruption, we'll ask anyway: will the fight against impunity include confiscating the cars he corruptly imported? And what about the $6.4m Tapfuma is accused of having prejudiced Hwange Colliery of?
8/8 Will that be investigated? If it's been investigated already, can the nation be told of the conclusion or state of that investigation?
