Migrants’ lives are no more linear than yours. Most start in low paid jobs, but acquire education, skill, experience and go on to other things. Waiters become nurses and nurses become entrepreneurs. Weird to demand of us a lifelong commitment to whatever profession/income level.
What you basically want is for me to be educated by someone else’s taxes, trained on someone else’s buck, get experience abroad, THEN come here to pay for your retirement, and bugger off if, for whatever reason, I stop earning the money you demand. That’s not how ANYTHING works.
The only rational explanation for such idiocy is a profound belief the UK is such a paradise flowing with milk and honey that all will just clamour to get in, with no rights and under constant threat of deportation. I love my home dearly, but let me tell you, you ain’t all that.
