The MDC Alliance HQ building has been forceably taken over in the dead of night by youths supported, I am told, by armed soldiers & police. This is a privately owned building which we were in lawful possession of. This action is brazenly unlawful.
The only person who is entitled to forceably take over a privately owned building is the Sheriff of the High Court of #Zimbabwe armed with a court order. This did not happen. We have never received any such court application or order.
There is a spurious allegation made in a letter circulating purportedly written by @DMwonzora that @nelsonchamisa agreed to this action. This is patently false - no consent was given. If consent was given why was it necessary to use armed soldiers to take over the building?
If there was any doubt that the Khupe, Mwonzora, Komichi group is just a ZANU PF front that has been vividly removed overnight. Since when have soldiers or police ever helped anyone in the MDC since it was formed in 1999?
The Zimbabwean public must be reminded that ZANUPF did the same to ZAPU in the 1980s when all ZAPU properties were seized. This is yet another act in a decades old quest to turn #Zimbabwe into a one party state. But this will fail.
This act is a betrayal of all that Morgan Tsvangirai, Gibson Sibanda and all our late MDC heroes stood for. Madam Khupe and Messrs Mwonzora, Komichi and those few former MDC colleagues who side with them should hang their heads in shame.
