Long time ago, there's a book I read: The Burden of Proof by Scott Turrow. In it I learned that the burden of proof lies with the accuser. If Mr. A accuses Mr. B of stealing his phone, it's the responsibility of Mr. A to prove beyond reasonable doubts that Mr. B stole his phone.
My little knowledge of law&court procedure suffered incalculable damage in 2017. Ms. Ford accused Mr Kavanaugh, a US SC judge nominee, of molesting her. The accusatn was said to hav happened in 1980. The SM wants Mr Kavanaugh to clear his name NOT Ms Ford to prove her accusation.
In late 2017, at the height of #Metoomovement, a highly regarded Oxford University professor and philosopher, Dr. Tariq Ramadan, was accused of rape by two feminists. He's remanded in prison for good eight months yet the accusers couldn't prove their cases.
He's never compensated for the damage he suffered nor the accusers punished for false accusations.
Now Mr. Ettu Mohammed is being accused of rape by a certain lady. The public court has passed verdict that he's guilty as charged. Meanwhile, the accuser is being celebrated for a job well done. Nobody is pressuring her to prove her case. She is a victim so she cannot lie.
In contemporary logic, being a woman has removed all possibilities of being a liar, crude&vengeful. Any frustrated lady can accuse you of raping her 20years ago. Whether she can establish her case or not is a non-issue. You're guilty until you prove your innocence. How illogical!
At the rate we are going, and if we didn't hasten to put a stop to this nonsense of irrational public sympathy to any lady who accused another person of rape or molestation, we're just miles away from being victims of false accusation and fabricated lies. Allah Yakiyaye.
