Today, I wanted to share some of the BIPOC voices that I follow in the travel community so you can follow them, read their content, and get tips that will help you travel better. [THREAD]
Travel is an industry that’s very white (for example: me) and these voices don’t get heard enough.

The industry still has a very long way to go when it comes to diversity & lifting up the voices of people with varying perspectives.

Here are some of my favs:
This is by no means an extensive list. These are just the people that I follow and know about. If you have any more suggestions for BIPOC writers making waves in the travel industry, reply to this thread with their account info!
There’s a lot of talented black travel writers in the world. Running TravelCon has allowed me to get to know many people outside of my usual circle & our team continues to work to make this event more inclusive.
Additionally, one thing we haven't done enough on our site is to ensure that we’re lifting up writers of color. Many moons ago, this blog started as a personal site with just one voice. Mine. Straight, white, American, able-bodied, and middle-class.
Over the years as the blog has grown, I’ve tried to seek a wider range of guest posts on the site to add more perspectives on travel to the site. However, one area we can do better in is having more BIPOC writers on the site.
So, our team is going to be more proactive about having more guest travel writers of color/BIPOC on the blog. Moving forward, you’ll be seeing a lot more diversity in our guest writers as we continue to try to do better.
