Regarding Utah Nat’l Guard getting kicked out of rooms at Marriott Marquis, Army Sec McCarthy says, “It was very sudden to me too, not communicated to me.” The Mayor hasn't spoken to McCarthy or DoD since Monday. McCarthy says he communicates with her through the DC Police Chief.
4500 National Guard remain in DC area – 1200 from DC, others brought in from 11 states. Some states – PA, VA and NY have refused. NY began to mobilize Guard for DC and then told them to come back. Bowser says she wants Guard to leave.
