The irony is that Donald Trump, who flaunted his Giuliani-style boosterism of police, egging them on to feel impervious to public scrutiny and even joking about brutality, may preside over police departments & polce unions losing their extraordinary power to make their own rules.
He and his attorney general henchman William Bare will go down in history as having reigned over the era when white Americans discovered what black, brown and indigenous Americans already knew about over-policing, excessive police militarization, and bias. abcnews.go.com/Politics/74-am…
Barr not “Bare.” But you get the point. So far nothing has been able to crack police unions’ power over municipalities or roll back the militarization of police forces. But the George Floyd murder and the excessive response by the DOJ and local police departments might.

My my my.... the latest ads by @ProjectLincoln and Republican Voters Against Trump are brutal. I guess no one on his campaign team explained to the president that the riot-scare TV ads Richard Nixon ran in 1968 were from the CHALLENGER, attacking the incumbent.
Here’s the @ProjectLincoln ad, which is devastatingly taglined “America or Trump.”
And here is the @RVAT2020 ad, which reportedly is backed by @10 million in planned spending:

1. Mitch McConnell is up for re-election in Kentucky.
2. A Democrat, Andy Beshear, recently won statewide to become governor of Kentucky.
3. His father was governor too. IOW a Democrat, running a smart campaign and generating sufficient turnout, can win statewide in Kentucky.
