I did not know Breonna, but I did know her humanity. I did know she could have been my sister, my partner. She could have been me. My rage had turned into sadness and back into rage and today into sadness for Breonna, for all the Black lives lost to the American nightmare. 2/3
But amid my sadness I do feel hopeful; antiracist resistance always fuels my hope. My hope is that one day she will become an icon whose tragic murder led to the transformation of America and the nightmare will end. 3/3
