If any freedom fighter in the colonial era thought that it was necessary for Hindus and Muslims to unite to drive out the British, then overall he did more harm to Hinduism than he did good.

We Hindus need to stop blindly glorifying mortal people & need to glorify only the Hindutva ideals.

When I say Bose was as much secular as Gandhi, blind fans jump on me & say that at least he fought the British in a nice way or that he was a devout Hindu at home.
Well the truth is that Bose`s secularism cost Bengali Hindus too much & his fight against British was negligible.

Then there are blind Savarkar fans who like to define Hinduism as Savarkar thought, well to their dismay Savarkar wasn`t a God and some of his thoughts belong only in the trash can. Political thoughts was his area and this is the only place where he should be taken seriously.
Then there are people who make heroes of everyone who opposed Gandhi-Nehru totally ignoring the fact that the person they maybe supporting like Bose or Ambedkar was even worse than Gandhi-Nehru. Congress was bad but it wasn`t certainly the worst.
It`s good to study what Hindu leaders over the course of our history thought of & how they acted but to make anyone`s entire life or ideas as ideal would be a very bad thing. One should analyze them oneself & think of their actions keeping the circumstances of their time in mind.
What would be your reaction if I tell you that at numerous times,allying with the British was the best thing a Hindu could do ? Would you call a Hindu oppressed by Tipu Sultan or Siraj-ud Daullah a traitor if he defected to the British army to defeat Tipu or Siraj ?
Everyday you`d see a guy claiming he is a Hinduwadi atheist & cite Savarkar to support him,well the guy followed the easy part of him but forgot that he spent in years in Kala Pani & other jails,was interrogated even after independence. Being an atheist doesn`t make you Savarkar.
