Brief comment on @davidmcallister on @BBCr4today just now. It’s a fair point that the UK’s position on State aid (no legally binding commitments at all) is not consistent with the political declaration.
But the EU’s position - complete UK compliance with EU State aid rules with ECJ jurisdiction - goes well beyond what was agreed in the PD (and beyond what the EU has insisted on in its agreements with 🇺🇦 and 🇹🇷).
