Byng Street/Bellamy Close Planning Application for 149 homes/26 storey by One Housing Group (OHG)
New planning application now online
• A total of 149 homes - 137 apartments and 12 houses - some of which replace homes being demolished

- those existing homes are all housing association properties
. 125 new homes + 24 replacement homes to replace homes to be demolished
• Up to 26 storeys in height including a roof terrace
• 61% affordable by room in total (50% for the new homes)

. 84% of existing residents voted in a ballot for redevelopment as housing association homes, a ballot was promised (also a policy in IoD Neighbourhood Plan)
• A maisonette block

• A communal courtyard with play space for the resident of the tall building
• Informal play within the public realm
• Communal rooftop terrace for the residents of the tall building

After requesting 3rd March on 5th June I finally got judicial review documents from TH Council, GLA & developer, copies in link

There is a gap in the story to explain why Minister/@mhclg chose to help developer by £40 million+
There are a variety of possible reason why they chose to do so
Documents cover story up to February, except for the final decision no explanation of what happened March-May yet

A Met Police DCI contacted me Friday to say "I am writing to confirm that no criminal investigation will take place following an assessment of the information available in relation to the Rt Hon Robert Jenrick MP and planning authority involving the Westferry Printworks"

Submitted an 8 page letter to the @metpoliceuk, @cabinetofficeuk, @CommonsHCLG, @mhclg requesting an investigation of @RobertJenrick decision to approve Westferry Printworks with reason why I think this needs investigating as I still do not

understand the timing of the decision & the acceptance of the reduction in affordable housing from 35% down to 21%
It so obviously benefits the developer & is contrary to the public interest that we need a better explanation then that currently offered by the Minister

I understand that the Met Police have already been called in according to @HuffPost following @Andrew_Adonis request. My letter provides them I hope with key points of inquiry & background to the issues

Another Westferry Printworks mystery
Twice on this site @TowerHamletsNow fail to make a decision within statutory deadlines (actually miss 2nd one by months)
July 2018 submit 2nd application
Deadline November 2018
But no decision made by March 2019
Developer appeals to PINS

Which then means Jenrick gets involved
TH Council had cancelled a number of Strategic Development C'tees that year, not enough business
The 2018 application was very similar (just taller then 2015 scheme) so no reason why they could not make a decision within time, see below

Happy it appears for others to make this decision
Contrary to the impression now given by @MayorJohnBiggs
TH Council wanted somebody else to make this decision, perhaps so they could blame somebody else?
In the new Local Plan they say this site suitable for tall buildings
