1. The regime has totally lost control of the economy; it has no friends willing to help & while some elements are desperate for deceptive change others see no future & are pursuing a scorched earth policy, hence the egregious& obscene levels of corruption by presidential PEPs.
2. The relentless assaults on the main opposition led by Chamisa, under the guise of asserting the authority of a politically weak faction are attempts to draw it into a fight & create chaos. The calculation is that chaos will lead to negotiation and an arranged marriage.
3. The Khupe MDC has had an easy ride in the courts. But on this occasion it resorted to the army & police. It’s not because they have suddenly lost trust in judges. There’s a method in the madness of using unlawful means to evict the MDC Alliance to occupy MRT House.
4. They were never the main actors in first place, just marionettes available & willing to be employed in a grand scheme to settle unfinished business in ZANU PF. It’s impossible for anyone in the opposition to use members of the military without the direction of military elites.
5. The analogy of hunters & hounds is apposite. The hounds must search, ID & draw out the target. The target has 3 options: stay in its lair, fight or flee. Except in this case, the target must know that the hunter has a dangerous enemy in hot pursuit: a faltering economy.
6. I do not have the gift of drawing. But if I had I would have ED & ZANU PF riding a wobbly and malnourished horse, Khupe and team running with the hounds, Chamisa and his allies in a lair weighing options & the Economy wearing a fearsome face right behind ED & ZANU PF!
