my friend posed a very interesting question today. HOW DO YOU IDENTIFY BOOK TASTE IN A CHART? this got me thinking and i wanted to share cause i love books so this was super entertaining [this is actually the first chart i ever did a reading for so im nostalgic 😭]
THE MOON 🌙 since this represents the inner world of someone, this is THE place to start. capricorn moon in 11H - this person is interested in saturnian themes. there is a tight trine to their jupiter though, so although the moon is in detriment, the jupiter eliviates this.
the somewhat lose trine to the sun is significant here too! this is definitely not ur stereotypical “hard to carry” capricorn moon. the square to uranus shows shocks to the system, but with aquarius being the ascendant uranian energy is familiar already.
we can infer this is someone who would find the subject of societies (capricorn) and their uprisings (uranus) turning them into better (jupiter) places pleasant. dystopian novels, essentially.
MARS 💥 how far are they willing to go? dystopian novels can range from “let me kiss them on the cheek as a sign of protest” to gore novels. the mars here is in cancer, so in fall. let’s go easy on the gore. there is a sextile to venus here, so the mars receives the venus energy
so double reason to go easy. with the saturn square we can doubly say that the mars is not likely to indulge in gore and bloodiness. now no chopping off of heads for this person, essentially.
VENUS 🌺 mars is the barrier, venus is the sky above. what does this person actually like? in the 7H and in virgo this once again talks of systems. perhaps a main hero who sacrifices themselves for others! someone who dismantles societies because theyre smart not just on accident
the sextile to mars works the other way too! no one too fluffy, there has to be an edge to the book. there is also a trine to jupiter here, so generosity! this further reinforces the virgo venus archetype of giving yourself to others.
MERCURY 🙊 this is a book afterall, right? what is the language like? the author? in leo and opposing neptune, this person doesnt want a book thats too obscure, too “niche”. also, realism is needed in the words - no flowery language or extensive metaphors, please!
NEPTUNE ✨ a book is, above all, an escape. with neptune in the 1H in aquarius there is SOME escaping to be done here. we’re talking fantastical elements, something set in the future! not to be too stereotypical, but maybe space or very developed technology is involved
although the words are easy to comprehend, the setting is neptunian. not too neptunian though, just a light touch, what with that moon. this could also just be an indicator that the person in general enjoys books and the escapism involved! fiction is probably preferred.
CHIRON ❌ the no go zone. in 1H in pisces, and squaring the MC-IC axis and sextiling pluto, let’s take psychological manipulation off the table. nothing that reminds the reader too much of themselves either! however, theres a question to be posed here -
while chiron can be triggering in real life, whos to say books arent a good way to come to terms with it, to see how someone else would approach the problems you have?
havent read enough dystopia to recommend a book, but perhaps the hunger games! societies changing, neptune outfits, and technology is involved in the latter books, if i remember correctly. its also not as gorey as something like lord of the flies or battle royale for example!
[JYESHTA - THE USURPER OF KINGDOMS] jyeshta is the 17th nakshatra, located from 16’40” to 30’00” of sidereal scorpio, ruled by mars by virtue of its rashi and mercury by virtue of its nakshatra. the deity is niriti, jyeshta or indra, the yoni is the buck.
the combination of mars and mercury creates a sort of energetical current where mars
provides the drive and mercury sharpens it and gives it direction. as previously mentioned in the anuradha thread, jyeshta‘s animal yoni is the male deer. for the majority of the year,
the male and female deer don't interact with each other, but, once it's mating season, they proceed to copulate. this is representative of jyeshta which has a duty to fulfil and does not dilly dally, being responsible with their time and energy. responsibility is a key-word
the zodiac wheel is simply a clock 🌼 and this is the easiest way to remember house meanings!
not too much of a stretch to see the similarities between the zodiac wheel and the clock! each house is a natural observation of our activities at its corresponding time of day, so in my opinion, the easiest way to understand the houses is to think “what time of day is that?”
the sun rises at the ascendant, so let us start with the 12H, which is representative of our early morning. this corresponds to the period of time right before we wake up, which is when we experience our deepest sleep. unlike REM, deep sleep is when your brain waves slows down
