The problem with “defund the police” is the dumbass, reductionist phrase itself. Defund the police starts a waste of time argument. You can’t just defund police. What takes it place? That’s a non-starter position. What they really mean is Lower Funding of Police for military equ.
They really should be saying “Demilitarize Police” and people wouldn’t disagree with the idea. There must be law enforcement: to all the jackasses who think there shouldn’t be. We just want LE that follows the law and don’t behave like criminals. Reduce Police Budgets ain’t lit😒
The “Accelerationists” as they like to call themselves, wanted Trump to ‘accelerate the demise of the system’. They push GND fairytales and defund the police memes cause they “don’t believe in pragmatism” compromise or incremental change. That’s cute on the surface...
But in reality, they never usually get anything done beside talk. They can’t hijack this movement because as usual they don’t have a majority voice. That’s young kids, who rather talk big than vote for their magic grandpa.
