I saw the life slip from George Floyd that day. I saw the cold stare from the murderer. I feel the rage of America. Yet I also know that the crowds around the world have rage against Trump, too. I see the hundreds of thousands as a protest against racism, corruption, police
violence against black people, bigotry, intolerance, economic disparity, disgust for an amoral President who has decimated historic alliances, engaged dictators, and shattered our reputation as a benevolent world leader that Obama nurtured in his Presidency. A universal outrage
amplified by Trump's obnoxious, belligerent, abusive, confrontational nature. That outrage amplified what we feel about George Floyd (and hundreds of other POC) being murdered by policemen. I knew America was a powderkeg, ready to explode before the murder, tempered by the fear
of the pandemic, and I was frustrated that we could not march on Washington. His murder was the match that lit the fire which raced across the globe, engaging compassionate people of all nations. That part is soul stirring and brings me hope. My fervent hope is that this will
drive massive changes to law enforcement, reverting from punishment to community investments in education and prevention. And here, in America, a purging of the putrid, rotten corruption in government. Trump must go immediately, long before the election. For he is reaching for
the reigns of power, and he came so close to succeeding, it is frightening. Only because of Esper and Milley's denial of his demand for using our troops against the people did he fail to attain his goal.
Let that sink in. Here is a report that shows how it all went down.
When you see the correlation between what was happening behind the scenes and his public actions, it all makes perfect sense. We dodged a missile aimed at the heart of our democracy. threadreaderapp.com/thread/1268535…
