1./ A thread. Does the gender identity lobby even know what it's arguing for? That's the question posed by the bizarre reaction to @jk_rowling 's tweet yesterday in which she points out the dangers of denying biological sex is real 👇
2./ Cue a gazillion noisy tweets claiming that no one has ever denied biological sex is real nor wants it eradicated as a central fixed idea. This is a random flavour of the tone. To which one can only respond, where have these people 👇been?
3./ For years trans activists have been campaigning vigorously across the world including in the UK to downgrade 'sex' which in legislation has always meant until now the simple binary of biologically male or female in favour of the nebulous notion of 'gender identity'.
4./ Sometimes they want 'sex' to sit alongside gender identity, sometimes they want it replaced altogether and sometimes too they want sex to be redefined as just the same as gender identity. Either way it's about denying the fundamental, inescapable importance of biological sex.
5./ The demands are inconsistent but that doesn't mean together they aren't effective. As an example, here's an attempt to equate gender identity and sex in a question suggested by trans activists for the Scottish census.👇 
6./ We were told until recently that gender identity was an inner feeling. Now the language of inner feelings is being applied to what was (and is) a fundamental reality, the sex you were born with. Trans activists also advised the census to do something even more bonkers.
7./ For the first time the 2021 census plans to ask about sexuality. But rather than just gay, straight or bisexual activists suggested a drop down menu might include 21 OTHER 'sexualities' including skoliosexual and demiromantic. Whatever they are.👇scotsman.com/news/politics/…
8./ Gay people are attracted to a single biological sex (our own). Mixing up the 'sex' in sexual attraction with vague, ill-defined 'identities' & (frankly) fetishes undermines not just the collection of useful data but what was a key step forward for gay people.
9./ For decades we've been trying to get society to accept our orientations as valid and fixed not just some flighty lifestyle choice. Overnight, transactivists and the census proposed to undo that work. And as 'gender identity' has spread, other institutions are doing the same.
10./ Here's the BBC telling kids there are over 100 gender identities. Listen carefully and you'll hear the teacher explain male and female are gender identities. When you make biological sex just one of a 100 vague inner feelings you HAVE indeed erased it.👇
11./ One of the other ways in which the fundamental (and binary) nature of sex is undermined or erased is to suggest humans exhibit a spectrum of sexes as rainbow-like as the invented 'gender identity' spectrum. This idea was launched with gusto by @Fausto_Sterling in 1993.
12./ In this essay she suggested there were 5 sexes. It's work regularly cited as serious despite the fact she quoted the work of the widely discredited scientist John Money to argue more than 4% of people were "intersex". That's far from the truth. 👇timesmachine.nytimes.com/timesmachine/1…
13./ Funny thing is she so badly misquoted Money's work he wrote to the NY Times to complain. Her reply on the letters page is all po-faced and serious. She'll make factual corrections she says. Unbelievably she now argues her paper was ironic, and an elaborate joke. Some joke.👇
14./ There's no joke about the concerted attempt on many different fronts legally to erase or undermine the importance of biological sex. Across institutions like the police, councils the NHS and government one document more than any other is used to justify this.

16./ It sounded like a perfectly good idea at the time. Unfortunately the process of writing them was captured by extremist members of the trans lobby and ideas such as Self-ID of gender and sex were inserted with terrible consequences.
17. When they were updated in 2017 the lobby went even further and an extraordinary clause was added. Principle 31 recommends that biological sex no longer be recorded anywhere on any official document. If you want proof the gender lobby want to erase biological sex this is it.👇
18./ I know the name Yogyakarta Principles sounds exotic and it's easy to think it's just some dusty legal document. But as my colleague at @ALLIANCELGB Fatina Liza has shown the YP are quoted endlessly by LGBTQ+ organisations when they lobby as if they have some binding force.
19./ They don't. They have no legal force at all. Yet here's one of many emails between the Scottish government and LGBTQ organisations released under an FoI that make plain the reverence with which the YP are treated. Especially that crazy Principle 31 👇
20./ The emails were sent in the build up to the proposed Gender Recognition Act Reform. Plenty of other institutions who should have known better treated the YP as if they had force. Here's the STUC quoting them as if they're gospel in their response to the GR consultation. 👇
21./ From dodgy pseudo-science to education campaigns in schools that conflate gender and sex to highly partisan legalese that aims to erase sex altogether the attack on biological sex IS in full swing, even if some trans activists and their allies hadn't quite realised it.
22./ We know that the trans lobby has been advised to work surreptitiously and keep its real demands hidden. But who knew its campaign of secrecy had been so successful its own loudest supporters hadn't realise what was going on. Or so they say. spectator.co.uk/article/the-do…
