I'm happy to post more detail if people are interested, but the security footprint has ratcheted back -- helps that POTUS away and mayor is sensible -- and this has allowed peaceful protests with a light mood to continue.

Incidentally— my favorite detail from the lowered security profile was ditching as many military vehicles as possible and using the fleet of city public works vehicles to control traffic and close streets instead. Snowplows and street sweepers with very civilian/low key vibe. 
Less green men, more “guys annoyed they got called back in from weekend BBQs to stand around in the heat for an unconvincing threat”
Everyone relaxed. No visible weapons. Mostly bored and hot.
