1. Did Rep. Mike Quigley receive stolen emails related to the 2016 Trump Campaign? This thread seeks to make the case that he did. This is ironic because the whole premise of the Russia scandal was that the Trump Campaign made use of stolen emails related to Hillary Clinton.
2.March 2, 2017

BACKSTORY: AG Jeff Sessions recused himself from Russia-related investigation. Sessions cited two previous meetings with Russian Amb Kislyak as part of the reason for the recusal – one in July 2016 and another in Sept 2016.
3. March 8, 2017. After receiving “many inquiries” about a 4-27-2016 Center for the National Interest (CNI) event hosted at the Mayflower Hotel, the CNI issues a statement that states CNI is “not aware of any conversation” between Sessions & Kislyak. nationalinterest.org/feature/statem…
4. Man that was fast. Less than a week. On March 2, 2017, Sessions recuses. On March 8, 2017, CNI feels it necessary to issues a statement due to “many inquiries”. I wonder what happened in those few days. We’ll get to that.
5. March 8, 2017. On the same day CNI issues its statement, Puffington Host writes an article about Sessions & Kislyak at the CNI event. PuffHo states it is unclear if Sessions & Kislyak met. huffpost.com/entry/jeff-ses…
6. March 20, 2017. During HPSCI testimony from Comey & Adm Rogers, Rep. Quigley makes the bold accusation that Sessions committed perjury regarding the April 27, 2016 CNI event attended by both Sessions & Kislyak.
7. Notice that Rep. Quigley said he is “reading” about this alleged meeting. No one knows what Quigley is talking about. PuffHo couldn’t confirm Sessions & Kislyak had met. Where is this coming from?
8. June 1, 2017. Fusion Ken Dilanian writes about Sessions & Kislyak attending the CNI event. Quigley won’t discuss the basis of his March “perjury” remark, but says “he wasn’t relying solely on news reports.” nbcnews.com/news/us-news/d…
9. Of course Quigley wasn’t relying on news reports. Up until this point, no news outlet has claimed that Sessions talked to Kislyak at the CNI event. We still don’t know what Quigley’s evidence is.
10.Mueller’s team extensively examined the April 2016 CNI event. The Mueller Report shows investigators interviewed five witnesses who attended the small event, and none saw a Sessions/Kislyak interaction.

11.We can safely conclude that Rep. Quigley’s accusation that AG Sessions committed perjury is not founded on facts. But we still don’t know how it originated. What was he “reading” in March 2016 that led him to make a false accusation?
12. Let me offer a guess as to what Quigley was reading. The FBI recently released a 302 from an interview of former CNI executive assistant Cantrell Brown. Brown was fired by CNI on March 3, 2017 because, as Brown indicates, there were “trust issues”

13. Was Cantrell Brown untrustworthy? Well, the day after she was fired, Brown accessed and saved many emails the account of CNI’s President & CEO Dmitry Simes. Brown also admits giving info to the press.
14. Cantrell Brown never saw Sessions & Kislyak at the CNI event, but she learned of the events from colleagues -- probably from talking to the colleagues and reading their emails. Is it possible Brown just assumed there was a Sessions/Kislyak meeting?
15. HYPOTHESIS: Hyper-partisan Cantrell Brown knew Sessions/Kislyak attended as April 2016 CNI event. Brown simply imagined a Sessions/Kislyak meeting.
16. HYPOTHESIS (Cont): Brown shared her tale with the press using the purloined emails as her “evidence”. The press never went with the story because the emails didn’t show what Brown claimed.
17. HYPOTHESIS (Cont): Brown’s story eventually made it to Rep. Quigley who exploited it for partisan purposes. Quigley received the stolen emails, and when he says he was reading about a Sessions/Kislyak meeting, he is referring to the stolen emails. [end]
