AirMarshal PK Barbora (rtd), ex vice chief of the @IAF_MCC.As western air chief he landed in DaulatBegOldi (DBO) in an An32 transporter near the KarakoramPass in Ladakh, 2008, reviving a forward airstrip at the China front disused since 1965.
P.S: He cracks many kinds of jokes.
At more than 16,600 feet, DBO is counted among the world's highest airstrips. The Advanced Landing Ground still has to be prepared for landings and take-offs.
Since 2013, the IAF has been keeping the Indian military base at DBO supplied with C-130 Super Hercules aircraft

It is India's access to the Karakoram Pass that is threatened. The Pass itself is not disputed.
The Karakoram Pass (KKP) is often confused with the Karakoram Highway (KKH). The KKH is from China's Xinjiang through Gilgit-Baltistan in Pakistan controlled territory over the Khunjerab Pass. KKP is between India's Ladakh and China's Xinjiang Province.
