Roger Froikin @rlefraim wrote, "I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO UNDERSTAND THE MOTIVES OF THE DEMONSTRATORS IN US CITIES OVER THE GEORGE FLOYD AFFAIR

I don’t have to guess at the motives behind the looters. They want to take advantage of the cover of protests to steal. 1)
I don’t have to guess about the motives of those who burn down buildings and attacking the police. They want disruption, and many are being paid to disrupt, as part of an effort to change the government and to protect the swamp. 2)
But the motives of the demonstrators, the protesters - that’s different. They seem to want to believe they are trying to make a change for the better. 3)
The problem is their lack of critical thinking, & beneath that there is another problem as to why they suspend critical thinking.

They scream, “Justice for George Floyd”, but George Floyd is getting justice. The cop involved in his death has been arrested and charged. 4)
The other cops with him are being questioned. That is how the justice system works, and unless they want a public lynching, that should have ended the protests for George. 5)
And some are screaming they want things to change where Black people, particularly Black men, are treated worse by the police because they are Black. I agree. No one should be treated worse, or better, because of their color. 6)
And if there is a problem, find where it is, and correct it. The problem is the demonstrators, when asked, only have complaints and slogans - never any rational suggestions as to how to fix anything.

So, what motivates most of these demonstrators? 7)
Talking to many of them, I have discovered that the problem is that many have no beliefs, no concrete set of values, no idealism, and that makes them latch onto the latest cliches, the latest “movements” without any critical thinking. 8)
These demonstrations are filling a void that has not been filled by any idealism, religious belief, or grounding in moral values. It’s all about what feels good at the moment. 9)
It’s just another form of narcissism, latching on to a cause to support ego that has nothing else of value to cling to. 10)
This is a failure of the Educational System exaggerated by a media that emphasizes drama and feelings over real news and which has become a political advocate rather than a source of information. 11)
This is a failure of religion in the West to be more than membership dues & nice speeches. This is a failure of universities to convey tried & true cultural values of civilization, rather than being nothing more than job training places, often for jobs that do not even exist. 12)
People want to feel they count, that they are worth something. If they have no grounding in values & belief, if they are told that morality is passé & that no one should judge anything anyone does on a moral & ethical basis, .... 13)
they fall prey to every con presented in a nice cover that there is.

Ask some of them yourself — what do they believe in. You won’t get any thoughtful answers." 14)
