The single biggest thing @Twitch can do to fix this DMCApocalypse is to include clips in the audio muting program. Full stop.

And before you “strummer shud no betr”: True, for instances of deliberately using music, but they are getting dinged for game music too. Just dance, GTA, etc. It’s twitch’s responsibility as a platform to offer better tooling to protect against DMCA for legitimate instances.
Moreover, streamers are deleting ALL clips/vods out of fear - including protest streams and things that have nothing to do with music - solely because there is no proper filter feature or streamer-side flagging system so the only way to 100% prevent DMCA is to delete EVERYTHING.
We can talk about DMCA law being terrible or how to bring about change till the cows come home. It isn’t going to fix the “here and now” content and discoverability annihilation that we are facing. We’re looking at solving the problem - not waxing poetic while ppl get banned.
And if Twitch can’t add clip muting or flagging YET, they should archive all clips and disable the feature to protect the entire creator base until they can add it - rather than tell everyone to just delete it ALL, which also inevitably includes VODs bc clips deleting is borked.
Let me add just in case ppl think I'm defending abuse of copyright: if you are knowingly using copyrighted music on your stream, you don't have my pity and I am not advocating for your continued ignorance.
