Without historical context, efforts to comprehend current events are invariably muddled, tangled, contradictory, and nonsensical.

You must go back to at least November 22, 1963, when JFK was assassinated, allowing a discrete Cabal to consolidate its hold on political power in the U.S. The origin of the American Deep State, if you will.

That Cabal ruled the U.S. continuously until 2016, although the names of the visible leadership fronting for the Cabal would change to accord with country’s democratic republican heritage. So, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Obama— all puppets of the same basic Cabal.

The Cabal’s signature economic achievement occurred in the mid 1970s when the U.S. required the OPEC nations to trade oil only in dollars in exchange for military protection.

The birth of the brutal but lucrative (for the U.S.) petrodollar system, which sustains the U.S. economy to this day.

But maintaining the petrodollar system requires the U.S. to militarily coerce states which wish to trade oil in their own currencies.

To whet the population’s appetite for war in the post Cold War era, the Cabal needed to establish a “War on Terror.” Hence, 9/11, and Iraq and Libya were crushed in its wake.

A system based on continual international coercion cannot be sustained forever, not in the face of a rising China and resurgent Russia.

2016 marked an important year in the Cabal’s evolution — installing the isolationist Trump to reduce American commitments abroad and begin withdrawing from the onerous petrodollar system it had created and hitherto sustained.

But power never recedes quickly enough. Displaced elements of the old Cabal (neoliberal and neoconservative) have fought Trump like dogs since his installation.

In the goal of fomenting domestic fragmentation, they are allied with Russia, China and other international interests who seek to crater the U.S. economy to hasten the petrodollar’s demise.

The result is the mess we are currently witnessing.
