The Crux was missed
Let me explain

Once upon a time, when home deliveries were the norms, deaths due to Neonatal tetanus was very high as compared to other conditions

Once Home Deliveries Reduced and People started delivering in hospitals, once Asepsis was brought into deliveries, Neonatal Tetanus reduced. And then There were deaths due to Diphtheria and Pertussis

Later Vaccines reduced deaths due to Diphtheria and Pertussis

And this point of time ADD and LRI killed childredn

Once he conquered ADD and LRI by *Primary Care*, he died from TB and Leprosy

A Prime Minister's Wife Died due to TB
A famous Tamil Author died due to TB
The Greatest Mathematician died due to TB

Once he conquered TB and Leprosy by *DOTs and Regimes*, he died from Cholera and Snakebite

Once he conquered Cholera and Snakebite by *Prompt Treatment*, he died from Infarction and Stroke

Once upon a time, a District Collector had died due to Cholera.
Does it happen now ?

Once he conquered Infarction and Stroke by *Early Management of DM and HT and Master Health Checkups*, he died from Cancers

This does not mean that Cancer is a deadly disease
The deadly disease is still Tetanus, Diphtheria and Cholera

You can see this in history

If you study the health history of Europe, States like Kerala, TN and BIMARU states, you can find that they all follow similar patterns, but are in different phases at a moment

Take Europe / America, for eg, Infectious diseases were the leading cause of mortality till 18th century
In 20th century, once improved sanitation and immunization controlled infectious diseases, less people died because of such diseases and more people crossed over to age 40

And these more people who survived the age of 40 without being killed by diphtheria, ADD, Cholera, Malaria, TB got Vascular Diseases like Stroke and Ischemic Heart diseases in 20th century
Then the awareness level rose and people started controlling diabetes and hypertension

People who would not have survived cholera and heart attack now survived past 60 years
And then incidence of cancers arose in late 20th centuries
Once cancers are detected earlier, dementia and other diseases of old age will be the challenge --

In States like TN Once infectious diseases were controlled, diabetes and hypertension have become leading health burden
So, at present Chennai is the Diabetic capital of India

After we control this too, cancer will become the leading cause of death and when some other state is diabetic capital we will be cancer capital -- States like Chattisgarh still are fighting with Malaria, TB and Cholera

Once we control Cancer, we will become Dementia Capital

Point is
Cancer is not the deadliest disease. It is a less deadly disease. Heart Attack is more deadly than cancer. Since you know how to deal with heart attack, more people die due to Cancer

And then heart attack is not the deadliest disease

TB and Cholera and Snakebite are more deadly than Heart Attack. Just because you know to treat these efficiently through modern medicine, more people die due to heart attack than TB

And then TB is not the deadliest disease
Pertussis and Diphtheria are more deadly than TB

It is all like a video game or Candy Crush

You learn to tame level one, but get struck in level 2 You learn to tame level two, but get Struck in level 3 and so on

See how the Various US Presidents Have died
Till Antibiotics were invented, many died due to infections

After Invention of Antibiotic no US President has infection as the main problem

Then US Presidents got heart attack
Once We learnt to deal with NCD
No US President has got a heart attack
They all now die due to Dementia

The underlying psychology here needs to be analysed

When people wear mask and come to walk
What does this signify
This signify that
If we have a solution to something, we consider that problem to be less important or not important

They have seen their friends and relatives die due to Heart Attack,
They have not seen some one (AS YET) die due to Corona
So
These people have WRONGLY assumed that
Heart attack is more deadly than Corona

Sadly
Media and Social media too, instead of correcting the misconceptions spread this
Why ?
Because
Most of the journalists too have seen their friends and relatives die due to Heart Attack and not Cholera or Pertussis

So
Again and Again we are seeing the thrust on NCD - Non Communicable disease

No one warns people about the more dangerous Communicable disease
People have forgotten boiling and drinking water or basic cleanliness

This is how
People are easily fooled to believe that vaccines are not needed
People are easily fooled to believe that Organic Farming is good for society

This is how
Man who conquered Tetanus, Diphtheria, Cholera, TB, Heart attack, Cancer
Will finally die due to Stupidity
