In early April, @spbhanot and I conducted a survey via @Civiqs to look at how online Pennsylvanians were responding to COVID-19. Now, @abuttenheim joins us for a second wave with many of the same respondents to see what those views look like (May 30-June 2, n=2,045).

[THREAD]
In early April, 59% said "We must continue to stay home for as long as necessary, even if the economy suffers." By early June, that was down to 43%, with 46% instead saying "We must reopen the economy as soon as possible, even if more people will get sick." (Had been 27%.) 2/n
Pronounced partisan divide on this question. 3/n
And while this may well reflect the imprint of partisanship, selection bias, or other factors, noteworthy that those over 65... are the most supportive of re-opening the economy. 4/n
The norm of wearing masks seems weaker statewide in the beginning of June than it was in Philadelphia specifically May 5-8, when 55% strongly agreed and 20% somewhat agreed. 5/n
Governor Wolf's information is trusted at least a good amount by 51%. (In early April, the figure was 64%, so the rally effect seems to have faded.) 6/n
President Trump is trusted at least a good amount on COVID-19 by 44%. That's exactly the same percentage as in early April. 7/n
Medical experts still enjoy significant trust, with 66% saying they have at least a "good amount of trust." But that is down from an extraordinary 92% in early April. 8/n
On trust in medical experts, too, sizable polarization. 9/n
As to who might be to blame for COVID-19's spread in PA, the U.S. and Chinese governments top the list, with Republicans blaming the Chinese gov't and Dems the U.S. government. Please *don't* conclude that COVID-related biases against Asian Americans aren't a major issue. 10/n
What about policy attitudes? On support for single-payer health care, 46% favor vs. 48% oppose. In early April, it was 46% favor vs. 49% oppose. *Very* stable, at least for this online respondent population. 11/n
Views about the ACA almost unchanged--in early April, 50% wanted the ACA expanded. I am also really struck by how few people are happy with the status quo in health policy, especially given how hard it is to change that status quo. 12/n
