The justification for federal charges against the guy who allegedly lit up a Chicago cop car was that the city of Chicago is self-insured and conducts business in interstate commerce, including purchasing vehicles.

Sen. Alexander has been reading from a small, gray hardcover book during the impeachment trial. But when Patrick Philbin explained why the Senate shouldn’t hear from John Bolton, he folded the book over his leg, switched out of his reading glasses, crossed his arms and listened.
When Philbin finished his answer, Alexander switched back to his reading glasses and his book.
Sen. Alexander had his neighbor Sen. Mike Lee read a passage from the unidentified book.
