Why does China not settle it's border issue with India?

While China could simply propose to convert the LAC into an international border and settle the issue with India. So why don't they take any initiative on this?

1/n
- China is the expansionist force who has acquired more than 50% of its land by expansion and reneging on old contracts. That is how they occupied Tibet and Uyghur province, inner Mongolia and Manchuria. None of these were original China. Communist China simply expanded

2/n
- Communist China doesn't mean to settle any Boundary dispute because most of these agreements were made with Imperial China. The original heir of Imperial China is now Taiwan. Most of these documents are possibly in some vault in Taiwan. What can China bring to the table?

3/n
- Settling any one border, in a realistic manner, will put to question its other ludicrous claims all over. From Central Asia to South China sea to Senkaku Islands to what have you. Chinese are very strategic thinking and quite medieval in their approach.

4/n
- The Chinese see very little benefit in settling the border dispute with India. If they settle it, what other lever do they have to manipulate India or exert pressure?
Pressure free India would then support Tibet uprising and join anti China alliance with USA!

5/n
- The Chinese recognise that only India has the potential of challenging its rise and dominance over time. They have a clear aim to dethrone US in the new world order. Until they have attained dominance over US, they don't want India to do the same which they did with US.

6/n
- Keeping India unsettled also means that India can't focus on integrating POK and Gilgit Baltistan. The Chinese have crucial investments like CPEC in Pakistan. And also China views Pakistan as it's future Colony.

7/n
- Final point, for a very clear access to Central Asia, they want to annex Ladakh, Gilgit and the Wakhan Corridor. For that they have to keep things in grey and wait for the weakest moment of India to Strike.

8/n
What pains me the most is Nehru's inability to understand the strategic importance of Gilgit. Also, his lack of vision which led to India losing Aksai Chin. Successive governments always viewed Chinese actions in isolation and never focused on the bigger picture.

9/n
The Expansionist China respects the hard power more than soft power. It's the power of a tough government which made China retreat on Doklam, and now from Galwan Valley, Hot Springs and Pangong.

But where does the Government gets power from?

10/n
In India, the power comes through people. Electing a majority government in 14 & 19 would always be considered a pivotal point in the power game with China. For our future sake, we need to stand strongly behind the government who dares to look into the eyes of the Chinese.

11/n
2019, during Ramnath Goyenka Lecture, FM S. Jaishankar told that a modern day country can't leave it's border unsettled. People saw this as a reference towards Pakistan whereas the FM who is a China Expert understands how inderlinked are both the border issues.

12/n
I would end this with hoping that my team, who is currently playing well, would not be caught with Nehruvian Lack of vision ever in future.

We must continue to stand strongly behind the team and team must deliver by leveraging the changing world order.
