Yesterday from 5-6.30pm was the Tower Hamlets Health & Wellbeing Board where COVID was the only subject (I watched it as observer), how many had died, how it impacted BME communities especially & the work being done to understand it better discussed

At the same time a crowd was gathering by the Robert Milligan statue ready for its removal, this event was not publicly advertised, I did not know it was happening until I saw posts on social media

This was not essential work except maybe for a few doing press interview
It was a celebration event at a time when mass celebrations still not allowed

If you truly believe Black Lives Matter in a Borough which has the 4th highest death rates (standardised by age) where the BME community has disproportionately suffered then you have a duty not only to follow the advice yourself but to set an example for others (wear masks)

I have asked @TowerHamletsNow for guidance on this subject & what the penalties are for organising a political & social event involving so many people contrary to the Councils own published guidance, NHS advice & government regulations
