For no reason at all (😉) I’m checking out the most successful newsletter launches in @ProductHunt history. A surprising amount of PH #1’s have been newsletters, including today’s: @tldrMarketing by @SaijoGeorge.

#13: @gohighbrow from @aaazavyalov & @elimanskaya is the oldest launch on the list, hitting #4 Product of the Week for Dec 23, 2014 with 817 Upvotes. Highbrow promised to expand your knowledge in < 5 mins per day.

#12: On Deck Daily, from a dream team of @techladyallison @rubenharris @eriktorenberg @nickrfrost @alexshye @bentossell, hit #1 on PH on Sep 15, 2017, with 835 Upvotes. And it was an early hint at the @beondeck brand 👀

#11: Anthony Diké @antdke got to #1 Product of the Day with @productpersonHQ. 839 Upvotes!

This one makes sense - a great newsletter on product, on a site all about product.

#10: @producthunt’s own Product Hunt Daily from @rrhoover was the #2 Product of the Day on Aug 25, 2016 with 910 Upvotes. Who beat out PH on its own site? @tferriss of course, with 4 Hour Book Club.

#9: @meetglimpse from @nframschwartz came in 4th on May 29, 2019 with 969 Upvotes for its trend discovery product & newsletter.

#8: Everyone’s favorite deep-reporting tech industry publication, @jessicalessin’s @theinformation, earned 1,094 Upvotes when it launched on PH two years ago. They had 200k+ free subscribers even then 😮

#7: @HackingUI was the #5 Product of the Week for January 23, 2016 with 1,102 Upvotes. Made by @sagishrieber and @DMtintner from Tel Aviv, Hacking UI is about product design & creation, a topic PH users care a lot about.

#6: @angellist, which bought @producthunt the year before, hit the #2 spot on Oct 16, 2017 with 1,104 Upvotes for AngelList Weekly, created by @Nivo0o0 @GrahamJenkin & Rachel Hay.

The #5 PH Newsletter launch of all-time is the excellent Maker Mind from @nesslabs. Anne-Laure picked up 1,195 Upvotes & the #3 Product of the Week for Sep 30, 2019 for her mindful productivity newsletter.

#4: A recent one! @edithyeung’s silicon.news was the #3 Product of the Week for the week of June 1, 2020 with 1,261 Upvotes. Weekly briefing on Silicon Valley funding news.

#3: Problem of the Day from @cwinhall hit the #1 spot on June 24, 2018 with 1,311 upvotes. One problem from real users, sent to makers every day.

#2: @revue by @mdekuijper is on the fence - it’s a platform, but it also has a weekly digest, so we’ll include it! 1,396 Upvotes, earning it #1 for the whole WEEK of Feb 12, 2015.

#1: The #1 all-time pure-play newsletter launch on PH is no surprise: @morningbrew by @denk_tweets @BUSINESSBARISTA & @austin_rief. 4,272 Upvotes! Somehow only earned the #3 spot on March 14, 2018.
