To replace the aging fleet of existing pay buses, six new pay buses were ordered from Commonwealth Engineering in 1967 FP 7 - FP 12. Another rail bus FP 13 was built for passenger use on the Cooma - Bombala service.

1986 the operation of railway pay buses ceased
last service being worked by FP 11 on 4 April 1986 between Lithgow and Clyde
FP 1 at Thirlemere FP 2-6 scrapped.
FP 7 - 13 all preserved
