Following the verified reports of insecurity ravaging parts of Arewa communities, we want to in commemoration of #DemocracyDay remind the govt of Nigeria about the sanctity of lives and properties which they swore under oath to protect #NorthernLivesMatter
It’s common knowledge from the election stats that Arewa gave @MBuhari the largest number of votes in the last election that brought him to power with its sole interest of seeing the improvement of Security situation in the North which was at its worse ever since amalgamation
Truth be told, success was recorded in the first phase of COIN in the North east, attacks on soft targets, bombings of religious sites, markets, schools and others soon became the thing of the past and were reduced to the bearest minimum, road blocks were off the streets...
What we are clamoring for now is a sustained tempo by the Armed forces and sister organizations to curtail the banditry, kidnappings, savage killings, arson, rustling and other vices that is currently ravaging Arewa communities where villages are wiped out, communities are forced
To pay ransoms and tax to this bandits and kidnappers before they can go to farm, with the closure of border and economic sustainability which food sufficiency is the major intent of @MBuhari , this will no longer be possible and feasible as farming activities are disrupted.
We hereby charge @MBuhari the Govs,Arewa elders , honorable members, clerics and Youth to collectively find a lasting solution to this menace of insecurity ravaging the north, else there’ll be no development, no enabling environment to thrive, no investment.
