1/ Oldest game in the $TSLA pumper sell-side analyst playbook: forecast Tesla profitability one or two years down the road, then each year keep pushing out the forecasts by another year. It's been happening since 2014. Another case in point today: Adam Jonas.
2/ In a note today, Jonas, who today increased his 2020 loss estimate to $910 million ($479 million worse than previous) while slashing his 2021 profit forecast to $606 million ($818 million worse than previous).

A year hence, the 2021 number will be red while 2022 stays green.
3/ BTW, the title of the note is

"China Risks Not in the Price;
Downgrading to Underweight"

I was very excited when I saw this. Finally, I thought, an analyst has read the Shanghai factory agreements & understands China is Tesla's roach motel.
4/ But, nope, Jonas addresses only geopolitical risk.

So, on goes the game. $TSLA shill analysts continue to see profitability, but it's always just out reach, just down the road, just around the corner.

While they remain blind to the huge problems in the Shanghai deal.
