Someone asked me if I worried reallocating police funding would lead to former cops joining white supremacist terrorist groups and paramilitary police forces for the wealthy and powerful.

If we’re saying that reallocating money from law enforcement would lead to members of law enforcement becoming threats to safety and mercenary corporate policing, then aren’t we also saying that the institution, as-is, is broken and needing substantial reform?
Because if we’re arguing that law enforcement is publicly funded white supremacist paramilitary groups with nonexistent oversight and a mission to only protect the white, wealthy, and powerful, and we absolutely are, that should tell you everything you need to know.
