@CarterCritiques and @LOSteelers. I listened to your podcast on the #blacklifematters roundtable. I found it incredibly powerful and moving. I believe there is power in sharing our experiences just like any other traumatic event. I wanted to share one of my personal experiences.
I grew up in Connellsville Pennsylvania. My mother was in the Army so we stayed with our grandmother a lot. The guy who lived below us would shoot up at the house with a rifle as we played in the yard. He a Caucasian male. He would threaten to burn our house down while we slept.
We called the police and they did nothing. I didn't realize at the time how afraid I was all the time. It become normal. That same police department ended up having it's officers busted about 20 years later for corruption. All the officers on the force were Caucasian.
I vividly remember rushing over to my aunt's house one night only to arrive to a burning cross in her front yard. The police did nothing. This was in only 1989. The police did nothing. There are so many stories we could all share. All we want is justice and liberty for all.
I wanted to share the impact of continuing to shine light on African American inequality and racism. Your voice matters, your voice is powerful. We are stronger together.

I want to also share a message I received from a friend of mine today.
Thank you for saying that. I'm still learning a lot. This has been eye opening for me and the stuff you share has a lot to do with it. I don't want my kids growing up with racists, or have friends with racist dads saying hateful garbage in front them like TONS of
the country Boys dads from (around my area) said in front of me and my friends when I was a kid. This is America. Everyone should have equal opportunity. You're my friend and it hurts my heart that you have to fear police instead of feeling protected. You're a good human Adel
