Ich bin also an meinem Problem selber schuld.
Früher war Twitter lustig.
Wir wollten uns mit Mett abreiben, hegten einen Fickwunschverdacht oder machten lustige Wortspiele, oder was mit Katzen, was auch immer.

@CarterCritiques and @LOSteelers. I listened to your podcast on the #blacklifematters roundtable. I found it incredibly powerful and moving. I believe there is power in sharing our experiences just like any other traumatic event. I wanted to share one of my personal experiences.
I grew up in Connellsville Pennsylvania. My mother was in the Army so we stayed with our grandmother a lot. The guy who lived below us would shoot up at the house with a rifle as we played in the yard. He a Caucasian male. He would threaten to burn our house down while we slept.
We called the police and they did nothing. I didn't realize at the time how afraid I was all the time. It become normal. That same police department ended up having it's officers busted about 20 years later for corruption. All the officers on the force were Caucasian.

Europe’s Forgotten ‘Hitler’ Killed Over 10 Million Africans — But the West Erased it From History

His name is King Leopold II of Belgium.

Most of people never learned about him in school, and have also most likely never heard about him in the media either.

THREAD!!!! Image
This is because he’s not included in the popular narrative of oppression (which includes things like U.S. slavery and the Holocaust).
King Leopold II is part of an ongoing history of colonialism, imperialism, slavery, and genocide in Africa that would clash with the
popular social narratives taught in our school system today.
It doesn’t fit neatly into school curriculums where, paradoxically, it is looked down upon to make overtly racist statements.

THREAD: The Disgusting Culture of Self-Racism in our Own Homes.

“Don’t drink tea - you’ll turn black.”

“Don’t go in the sun. You’ll darken and no one will marry you.”

“Wash your face with milk to become whiter.”

A True Story.

An acquaintance once told me a story:

She says, “I once walked in on a friend crying in the bathroom. She had cream all over her face, hands and neck. Different products. She was about 10 years old. She was trying to wash the color of her skin away.”

Pic: Pixabay
At ten years old, this girl felt so ugly because of her skin color that she felt the need to apply creams.

And who convinced her of this? Not a police officer or any troll hiding behind a screen on the internet.

No. It was her own family. Her own relatives. Her own blood.

Digital really creates lots of opportunity for kids. I could imagine how much Barney video cassettes and LadyBirds mum had to buy me in the late 90s. Now, my nanosister needs just a single edutab to have 200 times all the games and resources I had access to. I feel jealous 😄1/
I did not even get access to Microsoft Encarta and Encyclopedia Britannica until 2007. I remember @ajayidavid5 giving me every software I needed. We were just 12/13 ish and even privileged. That entry age has even now fast lowered to 5. I remember 'breaking' my way into the En 2/
carta library through Program Files in order to see where alllll the videos were because I could not imagine the whole videos not being searchable. Well, @Google acquired @YouTube in 2006 and see, kids can now use voice to call up videos or even sing it out.

All’epoca, tutti i membri della giuria erano bianchi. Il processo durò solo 2 ore, e la sentenza fu annunciata 10 minuti dopo.
I genitori del bambino furono minacciati e fu loro impedito l’accesso a corte, per poi essere espulsi dalla città

A few months ago my dude was looking for a tote bag to carry some things to the post office. I gave the biggest bag I had which happened to be bright pink and red. He saw the bag and immediately asked for another one. When I asked why he just insisted on a different color bag.
His insistence annoyed me and I started in on him fussing about it being sexist and homophobic, even to reject a bag based on thinking it’s too effeminate!
He let me fuss at him for a minute and then finally she said “Baby, please stop. That’s not it!”
He said “I’m a 6’3 Black man. If I’m walking down the street with a bright pink bag I could look like I stole it from a woman - which could attract police attention. I’m never trying to give these cops a reason to stop me. Ever.”
Never occurred to me.

If you are a Christian that means you're a person of freedom & justice. I want to see other ppl fighting for the justice of unarmed black men being hunted down and slaughtered.
(I don’t know who created this, but I'd like to credit the original author if anyone knows.)
This next part is not my post and the person who posted it was not tagged:
