I’m in South Carolina right now. Restaurants only have outdoor seating, but there’s no social distancing between tables, everyone is crammed on top of each other.
And nobody is wearing masks anywhere, in shops, restaurants, you name it. Not even the wait-staff.

Even if SARS-2 doesn’t spread as easily in the heat and humidity, it still will spread if people give it a lot of chances to spread—say, by not wearing masks and not doing social distancing.
From what I’ve seen, most people in the part of South Carolina I’m in aren’t taking the coronavirus very seriously.

I just got my hair cut and nobody was wearing masks. An elderly man walked in, saw me wearing a mask, took his out of his pocket and asked if he needed it, they told him no, and he put it back in his pocket.
Restaurant last night had a mix of indoor and outdoor seating, no masks. Not any of the staff, not any of the customers, nobody. There were lots of older people there too!
For the record: I’ve already had Covid-19. I have high levels of antibodies. I’m not worried about myself.
