Here's a graph the UK government doesn't want you to see...

It's a simple comparison: how many coronavirus deaths have been reported in the last 7 days in each country.

This is why pointing to what other countries are doing as an excuse to ease the lockdown in the UK is absurd!

Or, to put it another way...

In the last 7 days, the UK reported more deaths (1,156) than Italy, France, Sweden, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Japan, Denmark and Norway combined (1134).

That's a staggering indictment of the current Government's incompetence.

And here's something truly remarkable: if you plot the deaths in the last 7 days per million population, the UK had almost as many as Sweden (which never locked down at all) and far, far more than any other country.

Shows just how ineffectual our lockdown process has been.

NOTE: the graph in the previous tweet shows how many deaths occurred per million people in that country.

In other words, if you took 1 million people and monitored them for a week, how many would have died of coronavirus during that time.

Sweden: 21.29, the UK 17.03 etc.

Thing is, Sweden never claimed to have locked down. So their highest-of-all death rate, while grim, isn't surprising.

But the UK's running them a close second even though we've nominally been in lockdown since 23 March.
