At the wall Trump tried to build around the White House, he met a battering ram of young & old; black, white, Latino, Asian & indigenous; gay, straight & trans; Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Sikh & Buddhist; rural & urban.
He met a battering ram that still believes in equal protection under the law, in justice & in love—who still believe in the possibility of this nation.
This human battering ram reminds me of something Henry David Thoreau said: “I was not born to be forced. I will breathe after my own fashion. Let us see who is the strongest.”
