I’m not here for any voter shamming. Especially shaming those from vulnerable communities that have consistently been ignored, while faithfully voting for democrats. Do whatever you feel is best. Vote, don’t vote. Just be at peace with whatever decision you make.
I’m no longer here to tell anyone, specifically Black people that if they don’t vote a certian way, whatever happens is their fault. Black people have been voting enmass for Democrats my entire life and gotten nothing but more harm and “optics”. No real material net positives.
I’ve personally stepped away from electoral politics now that the primaries are over, to do more ground work because I’m burned out. There are other areas where I can help. I’m only saying this because I already see a lot of blame going around and it’s misdirected.
It’s not the fault of the oppressed that they haven’t been able to “vote out” their oppressor. Making everything impossibly hard for them, then blame them when harm happens. That’s abusive and I’m no longer here for it.
That goes for poor and working class people too. It isn’t easy to vote. Go to a poor area vs an affluent one. You can see with your own eyes how hard voting and electoral politics is. People working hrly can’t just get time off every 2 mos to vote or be consistently engaged.
The system is set up that way. This tweet is facts. Students, who go to school out of state have a hellva time voting. Stop blaming regular people and look to the electorial officals that set up and perpetuate this fucked up system.
