A small thread on the behaviour of Jamiati thugs. I've not come across such uncouth behaviour from the Talibs even after I provoked them a lot.
I once called Ghani a pet dog of US and none of his supporters came to abuse me. One of them, a friend, messaged me and said "I didn't expect this from you, Aveek." we debated and he said wait a few months and you'll know. It was polite throughout
I once just tweeted that the way Noor tweets he'll lose whatever credibility he has left. His advisor calls me up at 2 AM Kabul time with a mix of threats & inducements. This when he didn't even know my address. But once a thug, always one. Landaghars. He's today the ambassador
I asked a few Jamiatis why do they engage anti-India trolls & I get some random dude DMing me every week that I am his slave. Carry on. A lot of journalists talk to me about Afghanistan. I'll feed them stories about Abdullah and the Jamiat. I am a vindictive person. All the best
Also if this is what they are online, I get what they would be offline. Random uneducated teens with machine guns. Their brutalities like mass rapes, loot, cutting off ears, etc. led people to welcome the Taliban. For all their ills, the Taliban do have a code of conduct
If you want to understand Afghanistan stop reading novels like The Kiterunner. Hazara militias were as brutal. Stop reading most media. How many tell you that the most brutalities on Hazaras were by Tajik Jamiat militias? Read the Coll books and the raw HRW reports. Not for weak
