Let's talk a little about the sorceress of #dragonscrown, because i'm a little tired of ppl who have NO idea of drawing or character design trying to bash professional character designers as if they don't know how to draw because their designs don't align with their ideology
There's a lot of work behind a character design, from themes, to colors, to what it represent, the culture, etc, a designer researchs all of that and comes up, after a lot of sketches, with a design that encapsulates everything he and the developers want to convey/
I'm not gonna go again into it cause i already wrote a long thread about character design, you can go check it if you want /
Many times the design of a character is related to the theme of the game or to a motif.

The sorceress is a character who uses Necromancy for her magic. Now, if you look at how George Kamitani represents Necromancers through Vanilla games, you see a pattern/
They all have big boobs and they also treat the undead in a motherly way.

This is because Necromancy is giving life to the dead. George Kamitani applies a motif through all Vanilla games of Necromancers as givers of life; he's using the "Fertility goddess" motif of classic art/
Classic and even prehistoric art represents fertility with big breasts and wide hips, because those are signifiers of fertility for humans. You can see the motif clearly with Sorceress in the way she caress the skeleton, and in the white girl from Grim grimoire as well/
He's not making all girls in the game with that design, there are quite more modest characters in there. He's making Sorcress that way because she follows a well thought design theme for Necromancy through all of the games of the company. That's GOOD CHARACTER DESIGN/
But we have to suffer fucking kids with no artistic knowledge or wannabe artists who learned to draw on tumblr, pretending that "a 15 years old did that design" because they're fucking offended that she's sexy and everything sexy is anathema for them.

Go learn before you talk.
I could extend this to a lot of designs that get attacked and then you see what was behind the design and it's 10 times more complex than anything this wannabies could ever think of.
