This is literally what you learn on the first year in Art school

I'm not being ironic or joking. By the end of second year at much, you have learnd to not bother wasting any effort and just pick up from the trash can and make up some postmodernist explanation.
And i'm not joking with the trash can thing either. We have done it more than one time, on literally the day of presentation of the project.

You get a higher score doing that than dedicating a month to do a good project.
There was a time i almost shouted in the face of a teacher cause i spent a week doing lots of detailed drawings of dragons and stuff, only for him to scoff at it and tell me "this is how it's done" and show me the project of another student/
the project consisted in a folder, a very pretty folder, with about 50 pages of printed images done in photoshop of just one circle and a triangle in red, then the same figures but different color, or changed in size, or location/
anyone who knows a little of photoshop or editing knows that can be done in about 10 minutes tops at 0 effort. Is just using the circle/triangle/square tool, print, change size, print, change color, print, etc/
But cause the teacher had absolutely no idea of modern technology (every teacher hated it and considered digital art to not be art), he thought it was a super dedicated and hard to do job that i should imitate.

Yes, you learn to not bother anymore.
Many times you didn't even know what they wanted you to do. There was this one time in Sculpture were they told us we had to build a model for a flying vehicle, that should look like it could fly, but it couldn't look like any flying vehicle in real life/
and i was like...ok, but...there's the laws of aerodynamics and all that, so if i try to build something that COULD fly, it's probably gonna look a lot like an airplane or helicopter/
So i ended up doing a VERY complex model of a flying ship, with the sails and everything, mounted it flying in the room. It looked amazing. I got a 5 out of 10, while other people just did shit like paper airplanes and got an 8.
Then there was this photography teacher who told us we had to present the finished FINAL project of career at only 2 weeks of the begining of the year. And after presenting the finished project, we had to present her what we wanted to do for the final project. ?¿/
If you're confused by that don't sweat, we didn't got it either, and to this day we still don't understand what she wanted.

In any case, she told us we could do a video cause video is, her words, lots of photographies. We even asked her personaly and got the Ok. /
So we did a video and she got super angry cause why the fuck we did a video for a photography class. And we were like Bitch you personaly told us it was ok to do it wtf
And don't get me started on comic. 99% of teachers considered comic to not be art and just some shit for kids. Only two didn't think so. But one of them, unfortunately the one doing the Comics class, thought that japanese and american comics were trash/
and he cited things like Watchmen or Akira by name as trash. He considered that only comic strips like Mafalda were worthy of respect. I argued with the guy all the time, you can guess how that went/
and oh GODS don't even dare say that videogames can be art. Not just the teachers but almost every student thought that was a stupid idea.

We did a presentation once to argue precisely that games can be art, half the class laughed and one girl even got super angry at the idea.
So in conclusion if you want to be an artist DON'T go to arts school, that's a great mistake.

Go to some independent teacher's class, or hire a personal teacher or just learn only cause there are lots of tutorials out there.
There were a couple of good moments thought. There was this time a teacher told us to pick a song and then do an sculpture of what the song inspired us. That was cool and i did something i liked, but even cooler was that i picked up a Chemical bothers song, basically Techno and/
this 50+ yo teacher listens to the song and goes OH YEAH CHEMICAL BROTHERS I LOVE IT and was like Da fuck?! XD
