"We'll dig our way out!"

The continuing saga of Pestfix.

THREAD.

A lifetime ago - well on Monday - @GoodLawProject brought proceedings to challenge @MattHancock's decision to give Crisp Websites Limited a £108m contract to supply PPE. And in this thread we asked some questions about how that decision was made.
Yesterday, Government told us loads of businesses had the same opportunity to supply PPE as Pestfix did: 16,000 of them responded to a press release it sent out on Good Friday. The problem is that Government gave Pestfix its purchase order on Good Friday.
Late yesterday we received another letter from Government.

What it *had* reported was that there had been a £108m contract to supply gloves, gowns and masks (ted.europa.eu/udl?uri=TED:NO…).
Mr Pestfix himself, Dan England, had always given himself a bit of wriggle room. Here's what he told the Times "he declined to say whether [£108m] was too high or too low."
Late yesterday we received another letter from Government.

What it now says is that what it previously said was wrong. There wasn't one contract for £108m for urgently needed gloves, gowns and masks but instead a contract for £32m for "isolation suits"...
However, they go on to admit that they have entered into "a number of further contracts" with Crisp Websites Limited, trading as Pestfix.
I am sure the Government lawyers are doing their best.

But, at this stage, we have very little idea what the truth of all of this is and, reading between the lines of this paragraph, Government lawyers don't know either.
What we can be absolutely clear about is that huge sums of public money have gone to a tiny company with no expertise in the area and the Government has (unlawfully) misled the public about how these huge sums of public money have been used.
It's difficult to imagine this would have come to light had @GoodLawProject not sued.

We will keep pushing. We deserve the truth about how Dominic Cummings' - who famously hates procurement rules - Government is (mis)using public funds.
