During our @CharteredColl member update webinar earlier this week I shared some of the things we've produced to support our members and the wider teaching profession during the COVID-19 outbreak - here they are in a thread! First up, publications and resources... 1/n
At the start of May we published a report highlighting research into school closures and their possible impacts: chartered.college/2020/05/07/cha… - we'll be publishing a v2 over the summer looking at next steps. This has been shared widely with both teachers and policymakers... 2/n
... and we've also published various reading lists to highlight key resources, including on remote learning... my.chartered.college/2020/03/online… 3/n
...and on the possible impact of school closures: my.chartered.college/2020/04/the-im… 4/n
We've created a space for our members to discuss and blog about their experiences and reflections on teaching during the pandemic (member-only): my.chartered.college/resources/covi… 5/n
We've launched a free teacher wellbeing prompts text-messaging service with @B_I_Tweets - meaning thousands of teachers receive prompts, questions and resources each week to support them: chartered.college/teachtogether/ 6/n
We've published a range of short guides to aspects of teaching during lockdown, including pupil wellbeing, remote feedback and assessment, teaching mixed-age classes, supporting parents, remote leadership and using tech for collaboration and projects: my.chartered.college/resources/comp… 7/n
... and our latest Impact issue even includes a couple of COVID-19 related articles from @janetifimust, @AlmaHarris1 and @UniEducator: impact.chartered.college/issue/issue-9-… 8/n
We've also done a few things to help support teachers' CPD even more. We've opened up our free edtech and research courses on @FutureLearn for longer - you can now access these any time for the next few months, rather than just during course runs: impact.chartered.college/issue/issue-9-… 9/n
We're running a series of webinars for teachers at all stages of their careers - my.chartered.college/event-type/cha… - and we've also collated a list of some great free webinars from other organisations: my.chartered.college/events/ 10/n
We want to support early career teachers who have had their training affected and school placements cut short - so we created the Early Career Hub, full of videos, articles and activities aligned to the Early Career Framework and Teacher Standards: earlycareer.chartered.college 11/n
We've also opened up a batch of Impact articles to be free, organised by theme, so you can use them for reading groups and journal clubs with your colleagues: impact.chartered.college/reading-group-… - and we've produced simple guidance on online reading groups: my.chartered.college/2020/04/online… 12/n
And colleagues have been supporting and mentoring on a great FutureLearn course on moving to teaching online: futurelearn.com/courses/teach-… 13/n
We've adapted delivery of our programmes like #CTeach to ensure that teachers can access them in a way to suit them, taking into account current pressures. Our partner providers are also offering flexible start dates to support participants: chartered.college/chartered-teac… 14/n
Of course, we've also been out advocating for the profession - we've worked with DfE, sent a letter to the Prime Minister: chartered.college/2020/05/20/cha…, written for the education press and appeared on TV and radio highlighting the need to trust and support the teaching profession 15/n
And we'll continue to be here, supporting the profession with resources and chances to collaborate, and recognising the incredible job teachers and school leaders are doing in hugely challenging circumstances. There's more coming - and we'd love to know what else we can do. 16/16
Inevitably, got the wrong link here - futurelearn.com/partners/chart… is where our courses are!
