.@kyoag getting ready to start press conference on his role as special prosecutor in the investigation of @LMPD officers in the #BreonaTaylor fatal shooting.
Watch here: wdrb.com/news/kentucky-…
.@kyoag says the investigation is "ongoing" and this is an information only press conference.
"You have my committment that my office is undertaking a thorough and fair investigation," Cameron says.
Says he hears calls to finish investigation as soon as possible. His office is working quickly, he says but is also being thorough.
.@kyoag says his office has continued to recieve info from @LMPD and is doing its own independant investigation, which he says is "crucial."
"At the end of our investigation, we will do what is right. We will find the truth."
Cameron says he is not going to provide a specific date on when the investigation will be concluded.
And he can't discuss much about the investigation. Taking a couple questions.
Question: Has @LMPD sent his office a completed investigation?
@kyoag said his office is still receiving information from LMPD.
"I don't want to get into any specifics" of a deadline.
Question: What's taking so long?
"We are trying to undertake a very thorough investigation. ... It takes time."
Says one of the reasons for this press conference is to ask for patience from the public.
Question: What evidence is still outstanding from @LMPD?
Declines to go into specifics.
"We continue to recieve follow-up details" from LMPD "and continue to do our own work as well."
Asked about Beyonce letter, Cameron said "whether it's a celebrity or a Kentuckian ... I take great care in every letter we recieve. ... It doesn't matter who sends me a piece of mail."
It seems the purpose of that was simply to address persistant rumors that a decision not to charge the officers was imminent. wdrb.com/news/attorney-…

Not sure if it's about the chief, but in less than 2 years, she has given false testimony in court, not punished any officers based on the DOJ findings and had her department become a national story when Scottie Scheffler was arrested and 3 officers failed to turn on body camera
if you are going to be this late, you should have an opening act
Louisville Police Det. Bryan Gillis has been disciplined several times for wrecking his vehicle & missing court, according to his personnel file. He was also suspended 5 days for doing "donuts" in his police vehicle while on duty with an intoxicated civilian in a "Code 3" fashion
He also has a secondary job as a collision investigator for lawyers and insurance companies.
He described his role as a "private investigator where I am not representing LMPD"
He appears to have several other secondary jobs: Security at the Outerloop Wal-Mart; traffic control at the YUM Center and for other events; traffic control at UPS and security at the other Wal-Mart in Bashford Manor.
NEW: Louisville police included multiple lies in request for Breonna Taylor search warrant, former detective admits wdrb.news/3TPye9u
Former @LMPD Det. Joshua Jaynes and his partner, Kelly Goodlett, had a "gut feeling" that a suspected drug dealer was using Breonna Taylor's home to store drugs and money. But when the evidence they were looking for proved to be false, they used it anyway.
Kelly Goodlett, who has already pleaded guilty to conspiracy, went along with the false info because she "had been ostracized early in her career for attempting to report a fellow officer's use of excessive force, so she decided not to call Det. Jaynes out on this lie"
Former @LMPD Det. Brett Hankison has a hearing in U.S. District Court this morning regarding his attorney status. He currently does not have one. He is one of 4 former officers charged in connection with the fatal raid on Breonna Taylor’s home.
Background: wdrb.com/wdrb-investiga…
Hankison says he is going to retain three attorneys. One local.
One is Stew Mathews, who represented him in the state criminal case, in which he was acquitted.
Said he undertook a "nationwide" search to find an attorney, conducting interviews. wdrb.com/news/former-lo…
Judge says wants an attorney for Hankison to file something this week so as not to delay the case any further.
Defense attorneys asking judge to prohibit prosecution from telling jurors Roger Burdette was watching porn when wreck occurred. Says there is a “social stigma” with porn and prosecution just needs to prove he was distracted. Type of video not important, defense argues
Prosecution argues it’s important to prove Burdette went searching for the specific porn, which was something he had watched before, and that he was not listening to the dialogue.
Defense says “who cares if it was a favorite?”
Judge says porn is a visual medium so unless Aaron Sorkin wrote this particular film, it is a greater distraction than a typical movie. So he allows prosecution to tell jurors Burdette was watching pornography.
New docs claim former Adidas exec. Chris Rivers paid the family of Zion Williamson & other athletes by laundering money from Adidas through another company he controls. For example, Rivers allegedly made payments to an Ashley Furniture store credit account held by Zion's stepdad
Brian Bowen's attorneys claim Rivers used his company "In Your Eye Sports" to transfer thousands of dollars via bank wires to the parents of many athletes, including Zion Williamson, when he was an amateur high school basketball player at Spartanburg Day School.
The new docs allege Rivers worked with a former high school principal who is now an associate superintendent of the Clark County, Nevada public school system to launder bribe money to targeted teens
