(Gov. Andy Beshear's press briefing is also happening at the same time. You can stream it on YouTube or Facebook: facebook.com/GovAndyBeshear…)
Fischer is beginning his press conference. Says he agrees with AG Cameron's statement about the investigation being thorough and urges the attorney general to keep him updated on the #BreonnaTaylor investigation.
Fischer: It's clear that reform is necessary, and a review is underway of LMPD. But we don't have to wait for the review to enact changes (cites personnel changes, ban on no-knock warrants, citizen survey, etc.).
Acting LMPD Chief Robert Schroeder is talking now, says about the #GeorgeFloyd video: "That is not who we are as police officers." Says the department will outline policies that involve officers who see inappropriate behavior from other officers.
Fischer is now discussing de-escalation tactics from the LMPD. Passes back to Schroeder who's discussing the importance of these policies.
Schroeder: We've tried to use de-escalation tactics as much as possible during the past few weeks of #louisvilleprotest
Schroeder: "De-escalation is our preferred way of handling things."
Schroeder, in response to a question, says the policy about officer intervention has protections for officers who do intervene, and each case will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis if an officer doesn't intervene (when another officer is going too far).
Schroeder: Before, there is an expectation for officers to intervene, but it wasn't in writing. Now, that policy is in writing to clarify expectations for officers to intervene.
Fischer (in response to a question) said he thinks the majority of LMPD still support him.
In response to a question re the Hall of Justice being boarded up, a member of Fischer's team said judges had previously asked for windows to be boarded when protests began to become "volatile," and the maintenance crews were only able to get to them today.
And that's the end of Mayor Greg Fischer's press conference. As always, visit wfpl.org for more news.

We're standing by for @kyoag Daniel Cameron's news conference regarding today's grand jury findings. Watch this thread for more. The briefing is also streaming live on Cameron's facebook page: facebook.com/kyoag/videos/6…
Cameron says he just spoke with Tamika Palmer, #BreonnaTaylor's mother, to share the grand jury's findings with her.
Cameron says his job wasn't to decide if the loss of #BreonnaTaylor's life was a tragedy. He says the answer to that question is unequivocally yes. He says human life deserves protection. He says his job was to put emotions aside and look at the facts.
We're in the zoom meeting with Judge Annie O'Connell, waiting for the Grand Jury's findings. O'Connell says if there are any indictments, the case will be assigned to a courtroom immediately.
Hankison indicted on 3 counts of wanton endangerment 1st degree
$15,000 full cash bond granted to Hankison, warrant issued.
Fischer: I do not know what the decision from the AG will be. What's important is for the facts to come out re what happened the night of Breonna Taylor. Whatever happens, urges everyone to have a "peaceful lawful response."
Fischer has implemented a countywide curfew beginning tonight at 9:30 p.m. through 7:30 a.m. tomorrow.
