Here are answers to some questions that I get asked quite a lot.

English hospital date-of-death series is published by NHS England. The Govt number reported is bigger as it covers the whole UK, includes all deaths & is not by date-of-death so includes deaths from earlier dates.
Although it does not cover all deaths, the hospital date-of-death trend follows the trend for all deaths fairly well.

The original files are here: england.nhs.uk/statistics/sta… and contain data for each NHS Trust.

ONS publish total deaths by date-of-death but weekly & with a lag.
The data on new cases that I Tweet is from Pillar 1 tests as Pillar 2 new cases are not published yet by area.

Go to gov.uk/guidance/coron… for an explanation of the different testing pillars.

You can see all the local data at coronavirus.data.gov.uk in the cases csv file.
Data on hospital admissions, ICU & total hostpialised patients are in the datasets accompanying the Government’s daily briefing at gov.uk/government/col…

These are no longer updated at weekends so no new information on hospital admissions in England between Fridays & Mondays.
Forgot the most frequently asked question of all: why is Yorkshire put with the North East in the regional charts/

Not guilty m'lud. This is an NHS England classification so ask them!!
