Mughal-e-Azam Akbar commissioned a deadly siege on the grand temple of Nagarkot (Kangra), in 1573 C- a story of desecration when 200 cows were killed, shoes full of blood thrown on doors and walls, & 100s of brahmans massacred

Akbar wrote a farman to Husain Quli, the ruler of Lahore, to siege Nagarkot, and hand it over to Birbar (Birbal?). The zealous raid, desecration, & massacre which followed killed the glory of Nagarkot, and it remains forgotten by most even today.

No Bollywood movie on Akbar has even dared to hint at this massively suppressed event from Indian history.

Extract in the 1st tweet from the english translation of 'Muntakhab-At-Tawarikh', a chronicle of Akbar's reign, written in Persian by his contemporary (Al-Badaouni)
