{1/n} We got scammed by the online current opening workflow of Kotak Mahindra Bank a week prior to yesterday's RBI order.

A thread on the gross inadequacy or leakages in your system
@KotakCares @udaykotak @KotakBankLtd {2/n} We initiated an online current account opening through the bank website on 18th Apr. Type Individual.

We duly completed the online form except the last step of document upload (as didn't have them handy). Image

(1/n) In Oct'1930, a brave Indian woman, along with her small son, wielded a gun against a Police automobile, to avenge the death sentence passed upon Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru 🙏

The masses wanted their heroes to be saved. But Mr. Gandhi failed us 🧵 #ShaheediDiwas Image (2/n) Days prior to the execution, the masses wanted their politician Mr. Gandhi to avert the hanging of their true heroes.

Posters across Delhi threatened a bomb raid on Congress at Karachi if Bhagat Singh was executed.

It was last ditch effort, which failed.

(1/n) The woman's voice quivered with fear and she refused to give her name.

"They'll know me," she said, a look of terror in her eyes. "If they ever hear of this, they will know who I am. They are going to kill me." (2/n) "We left everything in Kashmir," she said. "Everything. We just came in our car with two suitcases. That's it. Our furniture, our home, everything we left behind."

1/ Every August, a spectacle of ritualistic firewalking is performed by Hindu descendants in Fiji, invoking Goddess Mahadevi 🙏

A thread on this curious ancient custom so fantastic that it defies any rational explanation!
@IndiaArtHistory 2/ The ritual is performed by descendants of Madras born Indians living in Fiji. After a 10 day purification period, spent in isolation and contemplation, firewalkers assemble at a stream for bathing and cleansing.

How a revered ancient idol of Nammazhwar (one of the 12 Alwar saints ) was removed from the Azhwarthirunagari temple, Tamil Nadu, in 12th C., and later reinstated by a faithful devotee.

A story of faith, courage, and devotion. A thread.
@IndiaTales7 @LostTemple7 2/ In the 12th C., the temple priests at Azhwarthirunagari feared invasion by Muslim rulers and decided to move the idol to a safe place.

They fled after placing Nammazhwar in a wooden palanquin.

1/ How often we Delhi kids have passed by Feroz Shah's tomb during our visits to Hauz Khas, & regaled ourselves with cricket at Kotla stadium! But how many of us know of his bigotry and persecution of Hindus, documented in his own words (Futuhat-I-Feroz Shahi).

A thread. Image 2/ Feroz Shah mentions a village Maluh (probably Mewat region), where there was a sacred 'kund' where many Hindu temples were built, and on certain days Hindus assembled here in thousands for worship.

This was destroyed mercilessly!

Mughal-e-Azam Akbar commissioned a deadly siege on the grand temple of Nagarkot (Kangra), in 1573 C- a story of desecration when 200 cows were killed, shoes full of blood thrown on doors and walls, & 100s of brahmans massacred
@Lost_History1 @truejainology @vajrayudha11 Akbar wrote a farman to Husain Quli, the ruler of Lahore, to siege Nagarkot, and hand it over to Birbar (Birbal?). The zealous raid, desecration, & massacre which followed killed the glory of Nagarkot, and it remains forgotten by most even today.
